Archers
An English archer was a trained professional whose skill with the longbow made him one of the most formidable soldiers of the 15th century. Recruited primarily from the yeoman class, archers combined deadly ranged fire with the ability to fight hand-to-hand using swords, axes, mallets, or other sidearms when needed. Their discipline, mobility, and effectiveness on campaign were instrumental to English victories during the Hundred Years' War.
